its all about, "POLICE IS THE PUBLIC, THE PUBLIC IS THE POLICE" principle. Two of the criminal justice system pillars in partnership for crime prevention, peace and order and law enforcement. The Police Pillar and the Community Pillar. It has been said, the absence of partnership between the two would place the entire system of justice in a collapse condition...as in total paralysis. In other words, the police function well with the total support of the community and vice versa in terms of crime control.  Grin

if the five pillars of criminal justice system will cooperate to each other in combating criminals and or preventing the occurence of crime then there will be no crime. except crime caused by natural forces.

The police exist to serve and protect the people. The community is composed of people hence one aspect of police operations should focus on improving community or people involvement in policing.  Sad to say, this is one area the police are failing. PDG Razon's Mamang Pulis concept is good but we have yet to see if its suceeding. Sana magkaroon ng independent assessment ang programang ito para ating malaman kung matagumpay. Just like other community programs of the PNP in the past, sana hinde ito sa panahon ni PDG Razon lamang. We need continuity and the police must effectively promote the concept at all levels of the community.

I saw in the tv the other day that our beloved police is looking at the proper wearing of uniforms as a component of their Mamang Pulis pcr program. May I suggest that henceforth effective immediately police personnel desist from appearing in tv interview wearing civies. Also, they revisit former PNP chief lacson 34 ins waistline limit. Mas maganda tingnan ang pulis na di malaki ang tiyan. Mas respetado ang dating.

police officer are the law enforcer and not law violator....
they were being hired to prevent crimes and apprehend criminals and not to become a criminal themselves..

well, the public view police men as a mere servant of people not just masters...they must extend their service atleast 24 hours a day..and they must be able to gain the trust and confidence of the people, in that way they can maintain a good and well respected image.... Tongue
