The portrayal of crime and violence on prime-time TV and/or in the movies ...what do you think are the psychological impacts?

......opcors, it has a great impact on teens.....even a six year old can immitate and bear in mind what have he/she watched. thats why parental guidance is really a must especially stuff that involve violence, sex and crime....

it's important to show kids that they are loved and cared for.. while they are young, we should teach them the value of life, love, family, education, and everything in between.. these things take them away from anger and violence.. ;D ;D

I was a juvenile delinquent. Repeated 4th year high school 4 times haha! I don't think the media had much to do with my attitude back then. I also can't complain about my family since they are all good.

I think juvenile delinquency starts from too much freedom and lack of supervision since I grew up without a father figure (OFW, you know the story) with no one to turn to for stuff and bullies bothering me at school which made me a very angry kid hating school and start cutting classes and got exposed to bad influence and that's where it all started.

What I would do to prevent that from happening when it comes my turn, I'd never leave my kids for another country and let them know that I'm always there for any problems they have, and encourage them to be vocal about it. I'd teach them the ropes of life, like my favorite philosophy 'don't take no s#!t from anybody'. If only I knew back then. ;D

sa akin naman, depende talaga sa situation. every single aspect of social life is our influence so the theory that everything started at home is correct, we reflect the the family we belong. and aside from the family is the bigger social processes that we encounter outside home.

....tama! studies show that 98% of those delinguent belong to unstable families, broken families, less parents supervision (parents abroad, parents most devoted to their work,  poor families mostly on the squaters area, rich families who thinks all about money). kids from these familes may start to find belongingness outside their own home...finding it more comfrotable for them to mingle with other kids who have same family problems as they do.....its a case to case basis...some may find it with wild fellow and some may find it with good ones, and some may find their own way back and learned lesson from it like what  pareng AA did! lol   ;D  ;D

i second the motion... kung stable, loving and supportive ang upbringing nung bata then he/she would have had a good foundation to be a good citizen.... it'll wipe the urge na mag "act-out".

generally, tama kayong lahat, tama tayong lahat ...but we can not also deny that we are product of our genetic upbringing, we gained something from "generic influence"
