POLICE  discretion, how works?

how will you used your discretion while conducting patrol...

at on or about 1800H while conducting patrol, WITH IN  you area of jurisdiction you witness a hostage situation, and discover that one of the hostage is your familiy member... and you are assigned to negotiate.. what will you do?, The hostage taker is under the influence of DRUGS.

REMEMBER : YOU MUST SAVE THE LIFE OF THE HOSTAGE AND THE HOSTAGE TAKER..

This is a very hypothetical situation. If you are task to negotiate, do you know the art of negotiation in this particular situation? If not, better not attempt to negotiate. Get one one who is more qualified to do so. Hostages got killed because of failure to negotiate for want of knowledge and skill in hostage situation. In this particular situation, your discretion is better tempered and allow professionals to handle it. You hostage family member will have a better chance to survive.

If u are a police officer and u are the negotiator of the said Crisis management then u should do what u are usually doing, it is not because the victim is ur family, yes of course life of the hostage and the hostage seeker should be save.... but it is very unconstitutional if the negotiator will save first the life of the hostage taker over the hostage... owsss!!!  The negotiator should give all the tactics he wanted to give and give any offer he could tell to the hostage taker... its a matter of tactics lang po.. pa waisay bahhh kung baga... hehehhehehe
