it should be handled on a case by case basis...

for the benefit of the general public use of marijuana should be illegal because of it's mind altering effect and possible crimes that could arise from it's consumption but then that would make the same argument with alcohol consumption also.

given our propensity for resorting to herbal medicines for our ailments... it should not be banned if the person does have an illness like cancer that makes them predisposed to symptoms of nausea, pain, poor appetite. Smoking a joint would take care of this symptoms and is much cheaper and more effective than those medications sold in our neighborhood mercury drugstore.

marijuana is medically useful lalo na ata sa abdominal disorders. sabi nga lahat ng sobra or abusive is masama... so marijuana is legal if it is medically necessary.

it depends on the person using it...
MEDICINAL USE:
Some people argue that marijuana should be legalized for medical reasons, as it can relieve nausea in people who have cancer and help people with AIDS regain their appetite.
>It insures that people who use the drug for medicinal purposes, such as pain control, have access to it.
>It limits the legal sale of the drug to those who are using it for medicinal purposes, rather than personal use.
>The sale of marijuana as a prescription drug serves as a source of income for the government

PERSONAL USE:
Every state has laws against the growth, possession, and sale of marijuana. Penalties vary from state to state, but they usually involve fines and/or jail time for those caught using or distributing marijuana. Users may end up with criminal records that can hurt their future educational plans (such as college) and careers.

>Doctors may become part of the black market by handing out prescriptions to those who want it rather than those who need it.
>The use of marijuana as a pain control may cause patients to rely solely on the drug rather than medical treatment

Possession? Depends on the judge. Bail? Leave it to the judge.

Marijuana??!it is God's creature therefore it is precious..hndi naman yata satans creature yan eh! but im sure ha!co'z ive havent read yet the holy sripture of lucifer iwan ko lng kung merun but im not interested. If we just think on the advantages of using marijuana,it has so many usage that wud be helpfull to us,but the worst is people use it badly even they are aware on the negative effects of using it...mga bro advise ko lang its ok to take drugs but be sure that it is regulated but dont misuse it or otherwise abuse it...remember! that taking illegal drugs is against the law it is a Crime and "doing a crime is an art if your not caught"..if you loved Drugs then take it for the rest of your life and enjoy it to the fullest!!
Its a very Dangerous thing to know, we know everything..

I think the question is incorrect. The fact that it is outlawed makes the use of it already a criminal or illegal act. The question should be ...Should we decriminalize the usage of marijuana? I strongly believed it should remain illegal, not even for medical reason or because other countries legalized their usage. To our bro who advocate their legal use, please lobby for the amendments or repel existing laws criminalizing it and see how violent the reactions will be from other stakeholders. We criminologist should see the deeper implications of such an act if it materialized.

Marijuana is the most commonly abused illicit drug in the Philippines. It is a dry, shredded green and brown mix of flowers, stems, seeds, and leaves derived from the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. The main active chemical in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol; THC for shortMarijuana is usually smoked as a cigarette (joint) or in a pipe. It is also smoked in blunts, which are cigars that have been emptied of tobacco and refilled with marijuana. Since the blunt retains the tobacco leaf used to wrap the cigar, this mode of delivery combines marijuana's active ingredients with nicotine and other harmful chemicals. Marijuana can also be mixed in food or brewed as a tea. As a more concentrated, resinous form it is called hashish, and as a sticky black liquid, hash oil.* Marijuana smoke has a pungent and distinctive, usually sweet-and-sour odor.
