Let me cite some major hindrances in our criminology education:
    1. Most schools library do not have sufficient volumes of books  and current periodicals to support the students research.
    2. Majority of our professors are only partime instructors and seldom show concern for students intellectual advancement.
    3. Most forensic laboratories are ill-equip or inadequate facilities.
    4. OJTs with law enforcement agencies are not properly supervised and students are left to their own, thus not attaining the objectives of the OJT.
    5. Internet as a subtitute for lack of reference materials in the library is not available to the students.
    6. Each instructor may have different books or methodology in his subject and may not be congruent to what may be asked in the board exams.

Both of you sir SS and sir Junsy are correct. Napansin ko rin na iilan lang tayo sa mga ganitong forum dahil sa marami talagang di nakaka alam mag internet. Maybe, basic internet in the crim program be included in the curriculum.

Yup tama ka dapat tlga isali ang computer sa curriculum advantage talaga, sa amin kasma nga kaso lang isang subject lang basic computer lang di parin sapat....but if the school can't provide you then as a student you must make your own initiative if you want to learn...
Its a very Dangerous thing to know, we know everything..

i agree with all of the posts...yan talaga ang mga kakulangan...

anyway as McVrooks pointed out,,, college students, matatanda na tayo,, naku take the initiative na,,,hindi naman lahat spoonfeeding... magiging future leader ka, dapat we start learning the value and power of initiative...

computer kasi is part of the modern world na, dapat makasunod din tayo sa agos...basic computer techniques enough na yun for our course, others kasi are just plain self study na, except nalang kung gusto nating maging computer scientist diba...ang pinaka problem talaga, is hindi lahat ng students may personal computer at hindi lahat ng students may access sa mga computers,,,application and exposure is better when it comes to computer literacy..parang target shooting lang yan, practise makes perfect, ;D anong konek? haha

_ ow? i think included naman na computer subjects sa curriculum.. tas basic lang naman importante on our course. as long as we know how to operate the computer, k na un,, though ample knowldge on the other services and programs is an advantage, of course,,,
__ on the English proficiency naman po, dapat on the classrooms, our instructors will encourage us, students, to speak english during recitations,, pero in fairness, magaling naman taung magsalita ng engles noh.. carabao nga lang, ;D, but that's the start..

hello!!

yahh!! english and spelling talaga is the most common and most basic problem of Criminology student...

like me.. I seldom use english language because i know i am weak in this area, thats why instructor of BSCRIM plss do encourage ur students heartfully to persevere in the English field, because Police blotter is always written in english, and it is the center of attraction because medias ( esp. Radio Reporter always rely of what was written in the Police blotter in the topic  of their news )para di naman tau mapahiya..

hehehehhe... plagi nalang taung pinag tatawanan...
