haay, i have to say i support this bill however, i do not get what the fuzz is all about,,, i could go to a drug store and buy contraceptives without being asked to present a marriage license, not that i do that, defensive? LOL i could also buy condoms without presenting any form of identification, not that i do that either.

discussions regarding the RH Bill has just created so much commotion, discussions between the state and church (which shouldn't even happen, if we were to carry out the constitution, SEPARATION OF THE STATE AND CHURCH SHALL BE INVIOLABLE) it took a lot of the senate's and congress' time debating it while they could have discussed other much more important matters.

my point is, there was no need to call for this bill because anyone who wish to lay hands on contraceptives could, if the government refuses to grant the passage of this bill then they should put half of the Filipino populace behind bars. and they could start with themselves just to set an example LOL

made me think though, was it a diversion, to cover something awful, to take the public's eye off something important and agitate them into the well publicized and sensational RH Bill? HHm makes sense its Voltez Five during the Martial Law all over again, at least then the diversion used was a cartoon entertainment, not state matters, not politics....the country is taking its toll for the worse...

Recently, i attended a symposium on HB5043, the Reproductive Health Bill. The speaker, a Chrsitian pastor and a lawyer, showed us the features of the bill. He focused his talk on the evils that this bill can cause once becomes a law although he admitted that the bill is not totally evil because it has some good intentions and purposes. He further pointed out the legal and theological implications of this HB.

In my opinion, the bill is good and true, not totally evil. But since it is not pro-life not pro-choice, i am against its passage.

well sir matt , its neither pro life nor anti life its is pro choice though since we are to be given a chance to choose use the methods to prevent untimely pregnancies, etc.etc... it's pro quality life.

we have to face the reality that premarital sex does happen and we can never solve this problem by keeping our eyes shut and deny to ourselves that it does happen, so if we cannot stop this thing PMS from happening, might as well regulate it. the inflation of the population is just too much..

but as i have said, there was really no need to bring this bill up because just about anyone can procure condoms and contraceptives, they are available everywhere, malls, drugstores, grocery stores, the law enforcement agency does not enforce strict policy regulation upon the procurement of these contraceptives for the legislators to even consider it necessary for the passage of the bill. it's just a waste of time and brain neuron activity for the state and church debating over it

The way i see it, once the bill is passed the way it is, it will centainly violate so many rights. Let me state the rationale of the symposium. The provisions therein could lead to a universal access to abortion and warrant the massive use of contraceptives that would facilitate the implimentationj of population control. For a country like the Philippines where majority of the people are living in sub-human condition, there is nothing wrong in considering responsible parenthood which include family planning. Of course, the church does not denounce family planning per se. This is accepted provided the method that is being promoted is in line with Natural Law, which is the Natural Family Planning Method. Unfortunately, the House Bill does not subscribe to this natural family planning method. Maybe, there should be some ways of  of improving the provisions of this bill so that it will jibe to the stand of the Church and the Law.
