This is a myth we long believed the norm in order to get a job. I dont believe it. People who believe on this simply do not have self confidence and need a lifeline to prosper in their quest for a decent job. Nowadays the trend in employment has changed a lot. To get a job meant you have to sell yourself to your prospective employee. That means you have the aptitude, skills, and other qualitative criteria needed for the job. Learn special skills  other than simply your basic academic qualification. It will count a lot.

matagal ng problem yan, we did a research on that last year and our local government said they are working on it, kasi nga nagiging problem yan at cause ng recruitment deficiency,,,maraming mas qualified na deserving to get the job at marami ding hindi deserving na nakakakuha ng trabaho because of connections, it happens,,,and it will never cease hanggat di natin aasamin na makamit ang mga gusto natin through our own hard work and perseverance....it always takes two to tango

Oh c'mon sir junsy. We may be idealistic to think that this is a myth but why dont we look at the government service recruitment process as an example. Andjan pa rin ang sobrang palakasan, panyero/kompadre system at under-the-table transactions. Its so frustrating to think and to find out that many unfit are in the service (PNP & AFP in specific) while the deserving ones are at large in the unemployed world.

Thanks for the rejoinder Sir Crimhead. It is when we perpetuate the wrong system that we become slave to it. It becomes our master and dictate us to follow what is intrinsically rotten in our system of public service. It is only those people who lacks the self confidence that need this padrino system.Prepare yourself in what you want to do and make these corrupt people irrelevant. Iapplied in my current job without knowing anybody in the organization. I went through the process and got the job despite of other applicants who are more academically qualified. Lets put what we learned in our police ethics to heart by simply resisting the wrong side of the system. That way, we make the difference. Try it.

Let me give you this as a case in point:
An idealistic professor gave a failing grade to one graduating student. The student's parents are employed as high ranking government officials. The father called the school dean and the president to see what they can do for his child to graduate soon. Through some negotiations between the parents and the school, settlements were made. After that the dean called the attention of the professor to remedy and give special project for the student to make up his failed final grade giving the professor no other means but to comply and give the student  a passing grade otherwise he will go back unemployed. Ok. If you were the professor, what u gonna do?

hi,

,.maaari bang makisali sa usapan ng mga capitan. at col. ang isang corporal?

,.hehe

,.niweiz, cguro naman ok lang.

,.i just wana share my point of view regarding sa question ni col. matt.

,.if i wer d professor, den i shud, and im gonna stick to my decsion. para saan pang naging idealistic aq. tska let us just say that that student and i had been together for a sem, cguro naman alam q n ung background nia including his family background.  so at the time that i made d decsion to fail that student,  i also accepted d possibility that i might get fired.

,.hehe daming cnabi. what im just tryin to say is that the question is not what r u goin to do with that, but the question is r u goin to giv the son of a governor a failing grade when he really desrves it?

,.un lang. medyo nalayo tuloy sa main topic. hehe

,.tnx col.

- about the whom you know thing, well,.maybe the better way to do is to flow with it but not leaving your principles grossly subtracted.

the employer is always right  ;D ;D ;D

If the school itself has already compromised its standards for educating its students to kiss ass, why should i try to uplift it?

prinsipyo...hmmm...if i gave one a passing grade, i'd pass everyone... it may not be just to me, but it is just to everyone, without my consent anyway, the school would still give the prick a passing grade, so better be fair to all the students....then, warn the admin, it will never happen again..or else...mata lang nila ang walang latay!  ;D
